Locks Brasserie in Dublin, Republic of Ireland

Locks Brasserie in Dublin, Republic of Ireland. -  June 2015
*Locks Brasserie was award a star only in 2013 and has lost it

A long and grueling year has finally ended for me. Year 4 was always said to be the toughest out of the 5 years in medical school. And now that I have been put through 4 weeks of hell/exams, it is time tor reward my tummy before I leave.

I have tried Locks Brasserie's sister restaurant, Pearl Brasserie, which was located in the city. It wasn't a bad experience, the restaurant was really fancy as compared to Locks's. Food wise, was rather decent, what I love most from there was their Ponzo cod fish. It was really good. Anyway, Locks Brasserie was awarded a michelin star in 2013 and has lost it since, but I thought it should be still written down as who knows when they will get it back again?

Locks Brasserie's location itself was not really friendly. It is about a 20 mins walk from the city itself and that it was in a residential area. The place itself was slightly sketchy, or maybe I'm just not familiar with the area (Portobello).

Wild Honey in London, England

Wild Honey in London, England -  August 2014

My last meal before I leave London, and my friend told me that she loved Wild Honey. So because of her, I chose Wild Honey over Pollen Street Social, which now, I regret a lot. I had a bad experience with Wild Honey, and I'll probably never patronize here ever again. And I would also not recommend this place to my friends at all. The Saturday lunch menu costed 25 pounds, which even though it was a pretty decent pricing, I don't think it was a single bit worth it.

Angler in London, England

Angler in London, England -  August 2014

So the rest of my London trip, I was alone. It didn't stop me from trying this restaurant, and I'm really glad it didn't. My brother came here before and he recommended me this place because he knew I love seafood. So I eagerly booked myself a dinner at Angler. I was deciding between the 2 course or 3 course meal, and I am very happy with my decision of 3 course. 3 course meal cost 32.50 pounds without service charge.

Maze by Gordon Ramsay in London, England

Maze by Gordon Ramsay, London -  August 2014

It's always good to know the deals in London, and I was updated by lastminute.com that Maze has a 4 course plus Bellini going for 30 pounds. It sounds like an amazing deal. So I decided to go for it. The menu was basically either savoury or sweet, whereby you get to choose any 4. They recommend 3 savoury and 1 sweet, but you can be daring and fatty like Nick who just chose 4 savoury. At the end, they gave us a lovely surprise as well.. :)

L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon in London, England - 2

L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon, London - ★ March 2014

So I was down in London again so many times this academic year. I really wanted to try Alan Ducasse this time but there was no available timing for the time I was there. &My friends wanted to try Joel Robuchon, so I'm back here again. Their menu changed this time, obviously. I guess I still preferred the older menu. This time we also sat at the bar instead of the restaurant upstairs. A different setting, it's pretty nice. I also didn't take pictures of what my friends have eaten because they were pretty far away and I was too lazy to get a proper shot of their food.

Nice pictures coming up!

L'Ecrivain in Dublin, Republic of Ireland

L'Ecrivain in Dublin, Republic of Ireland -  October 2013

So I wasn't in Singapore to celebrate my favourite girl in Dublin, Nastassia, 20th birthday. So I decided to treat her to a fancy restaurant when she's back in Dublin. The Dinning Room came up with an amazing offer of 50% for its 6 course tasting menu for 2. It's been awhile since I had the food and thus I don't exactly remember the names for it anymore.. So.. pictures only and a final review.

L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon in London, England

L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon, London - ★ September 2013

2 weeks into 3rd year of school and I'm getting all depressed and lonely. Parents allowed me to have a mini getaway to London. And obviously, my family knew I love eating good food and allowed us to have a taste of good food. Also, my sisters surprised me when I saw them at the tube station. :D Lovely surprise. So, we decided to try L'Aterlier de Joel Robuchon in London. I have tried the same one in Paris and it was amazing. We dined in La Cuisine for lunch, which is a table concept as compared to the counter concept of L'Atelier. I heard and tried the counter concept in Paris and I must say that the counter concept food are way better. Lunch set menus are definitely cheaper and affordable. Whether it is worth it... Questionable.
